We can help you access any Government funding to pay for apprenticeship programmes.
Apprenticeships are available for all staff, there are no age restrictions on people working in either
an SME (small-medium enterprise) or a large Levy paying company.
Your Levy payments you've already made can be used to fund apprenticeships right across your organisation, not just for new employees.
As of April 2024, the Government will be fully funding the apprenticeship training for SME businesses who bring on apprentices under the age of 22.
Over 22's will remain 95% funded*, with employers paying the other 5%.
* up to the funding band maximum
For those wishing to undertake a qualification at Level 3 or above with us, there may be the option to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
Although there is no upper age limit for becoming an apprentice, could your business benefit from taking on a young person? Employers can claim a £1,000 payment from the Government for taking on an apprentice who is either:
You can spend it on any costs associated with supporting the apprentice in the workplace. For example, on uniforms, your apprentice's travel or their salary.
To be able to access apprenticeship funds (whether via the Levy or Non-Levy route), the intended apprentice must have a valid and eligible residency status.
UK nationals or other persons with a right of abode have an eligible residency status, if they have been ordinarily resident in the UK* for at least the previous 3 years on the first day of the apprenticeship.
There are many criteria regulating eligibility, updated in August 2023, which we will be happy to guide you through.
